Assesses and evaluates risks. Understands the implications of innovations.

Operations

Autonomy: Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes organisation, sector of constituency objectives and delegates responsibilities. Is accountable for actions and decisions taken.

Influence: Influences policy formation on the contribution of own specialism to objectives. Influences a significant part of own organisation, sector or constituency and influences relations (in industry or government) at senior management level. Makes decisions which impact the work of organisations, sectors or constituencies achievement of objectives, including financial performance. Develops high-level relationships with stakeholders.

Complexity: Performs highly complex work activities. Contributes to the formulation of strategy. Creatively applies a wide range of principles.

Social skills: Demonstrates clear leadership and the ability to influence and persuade. Has a broad understanding of all aspects of civic participation and deep understanding of own specialism(s). Understands and communicates the role and impact of innovations and regulatory initiatives and promotes compliance with relevant legislation.
